An U.S. helicopter has crashed in western Iraq – the second military aircraft crash in as many days.

Rescue teams are responding to the crash site in Iraq, officials told Task & Purpose on Thursday. As of deadline, it was unclear how many U.S. troops were aboard the aircraft when it went down, or if any of them were injured.

Citing unnamed U.S. officials, ABC News reporter Elizabeth McLaughlintweeted that not everyone survived when the Air Force HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter crashed Thursday near al Qaim.

U.S. Central Command is expected to issue a news release about the crash later on Thursday, a command spokesman told Task & Purpose.

The crash comes a day after a Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet went down off Florida, killing two aviators. The Defense Department has not yet released the names of those killed.
