If you ever wonder why we are not willing to give them up its because people like this asshole exist.
People are freaking out after Buncombe County Sheriff candidate R. Daryl Fisher was caught on video making a sick comment about lawful gun owners to a group of anti-gun activists. Only a liberal would say something this disturbing, but things backfired on him in a way that was unexpected.
Video footage of Buncombe County Sheriff candidate R. Daryl Fisher has gone viral after he said the unthinkable to a group of Michael Bloomberg’s Moms Demand Action activists during a meeting on March 7, 2018. Public outrage has since erupted, and many are calling for Fisher to exit the race because of his heinous statements, saying that it’s “ok” to kill a gun owner.
According to Blue Lives Matter, Fisher came under fire from not just people in Buncombe County but from all over the country after he told a group of anti-gun activists, “Any weapon that is designed for use by the military I think we should ban. You’ve heard people say you have to pry my gun from my cold dead hands. (shrugs) OK.”
The video of Fisher’s disgusting comment hit social media like a bomb and then quickly came back around with unexpected backlash. In a later attempt to explain his demented comments, Fisher talked about the incident on his Facebook page.
“On Wednesday, March 7, 2018, I was asked to address a group in West Asheville and relay information as it pertains to current gun legislation in NC.,” Buncombe County Sheriff candidate R. Daryl Fisher told visitors to his campaign Facebook page. “I took this opportunity to relay proposals on what I believe to be sensible gun legislation.
Even in his pathetic attempt to explain himself, Fisher wasn’t willing to be honest. He refers to the audience that he was speaking to as a “group.” Fisher should have just come out and said that is was the anti-gun group Moms Demand Action to which he was speaking.
“As a candidate for Sheriff, I cannot enact legislation,” Fisher goes on to deflect. “If elected Sheriff, I cannot enact legislation. But as a candidate for Sheriff, I can propose what I believe to be sensible gun legislation. It is up to our legislators to determine what becomes law.”
Nothing about killing gun-owners is funny or sensational. In my opinion, the audience members who laughed at Fisher’s “joke” are just as sick in the head as he is. For Fisher to suggest that there is an acceptable reason to kill a gun owner is despicable. Although law enforcement officials do not write or enact legislation, they can often have a tremendous amount of influence on the legislative process.
In his original statements, Fisher eagerly suggested forbidding citizens old enough to serve in the military or the “unorganized militia” from purchasing guns. Fisher also suggested banning standard capacity magazines for everyone except got a select few whom he referred to as the “Only Ones.”
