A disabled Army veteran is looking for answers as to who shot and killed his service dog and then dumped its body by railroad tracks in Kentucky.
Bryan Vallandingham, a 14-year U.S. Army veteran, suffers from seizures and relied on his service dog, Gunner, for safety to alert family members when his seizures happened, Cincinnati.com reported.
“He [the dog] would notify us if Bryan was getting ready to have a seizure. He would tell us by sitting in front of him, by laying across him or just barking randomly at Bryan, so he would notify us and give us time to get him in a safe situation so he wouldn’t hurt himself,” Bryan’s wife Kimberly said.

The family said that Gunner was likely to have been stolen from their yard more than two weeks ago.
On Monday, Gunner was found dead near railroad tracks along Dixie Highway in Boone County, Kentucky.
