A staff member for Republican Senator Rand Paul was attacked in broad daylight in Washington, DC. A member of Paul’s staff was stabbed multiple times over the weekend.
According to ABC reporter Allison Pecorin, Sen. Rand Paul confirmed in a statement that a member of his staff was “brutally attacked in broad daylight” in Washington, DC, this past weekend. According to police reports obtained by ABC News, the employee suffered multiple knife wounds in the 1300 block of H Street NE.
“This past weekend, a member of my staff was savagely attacked in Washington, D.C., in broad daylight,” Paul stated. I’m asking you to join Kelley and me in thanking the police, hospital staff, and first responders for their hard work and praying for a quick and complete recovery.”
He continued–
“We are glad to learn that the culprit has been taken into custody. We are requesting privacy at this time so that everyone can concentrate on their healing and rehabilitation.”
The Metropolitan Police Department’s First District detectives said that an arrest had been made in connection with a knife-related assault with the intent to kill that took place on March 25, 2023, in the 1300 block of H Street in the Northeast.
“Members of the First District were sent to the specified area for the complaint of a stabbing at around 5:17 o’clock. Upon arrival, members located an adult male stabbing victim. The victim’s life-threatening injuries were taken care of at a nearby hospital. Following the detectives’ investigation, Glynn Neal, 42, of Southeast, Washington, DC, was detained and charged with Assault with Intent to Murder (Knife) on Saturday, March 25, 2023.”
