We’re pretty sure we broke FDE with this one…

SigGlockinColt and FatDarkEarth visted Mossbergs tent on range day to check out their new MC1 Pistol. Mossberg, known more for their shotguns, Has expanded into striker fired pistol territory. The MC1 Striker Fired pistol is the First fudd friendly pistol. Why is it fudd friendly you ask? It comes with two distinct features that assist in the safe handling of the pistol for those who are scared of modern technology that is featured in pistols such as HK, Sig Sauer, and Glock.

Mossberg realized that many pistols are getting aftermarket Flat triggers once they leave the gunstore so to appeal to their future customers they went ahead and incorporated a flat trigger into their design thus eliminating the need to replace the trigger.

The MC1 features a physical safety. A cross bolt safety much like you would find on your typical shotgun.  Additionally, Mossberg figured out a way to take down the striker fired pistol without having to pull the trigger. They literally sat in 3 years worth of meetings trying to figure out how to accomplish this feat.

The pistol is glock 43 magazine compatible but the rep says it is not a glock magazine that comes with the pistol. To us the magazine looked alot like an ETS mag. The pistol also comes with the option of truglow night sights.

Both the slide and barrel are stainless and feature a DLC coating.

All jokes aside Mossberg has created something that is only unique but awesome.

So what is a Fudd? Why do we constantly mock them? Well, its simple. They are a problem in the 2A community in the fact that so long as their 1911s, revolvers, and blued steel shotguns are safe they are willing to throw the rest of 2a community under the bus. They are willing to sacrifice other sections of the gun community to save themselves. (Sound Familiar?)

A Fudd can be defined as a “casual” gun owner; eg. a person who typically only owns guns for hunting or shotgun sports and does not truly believe in the true premise of the Second Amendment. These people also generally treat owners/users of so called “non-sporting” firearms, like handguns or semiautomatic rifles, with unwarranted scorn or contempt. They wouldn’t be caught dead with anything black polymer, tactical, or concealable. If you ask them why they own guns, the typical answer is for hunting or for sport. If you ask them about personal defence, expect either half-assed answer about a shotgun with birdshot, or just calling the police.
