Carrying the load.

Carrying the load.

I am a huge fan of carrying the right tool for the right job. To a point.  Carry a firearm? Damn right. Carry a blade? Absolutely. Carry 15 extra mags , a back up piece, grappling hook, flashlight, lightsaber,  grenade launcher, phaser and the kitchen sink? Ummm….no.

It’s a bit much don’t you think? For one thing, weight is an issue. Two it’s going to be difficult, nye impossible to conceal all that. Damn kitchen sink.

There is a limit to what a person should carry i think. There can be a thing as TOO MUCH. Personally, I carry my everyday piece, a blade and a flashlight. Yes, i said a flashlight. No, not a big ass D cell Maglite or anything, I have a nice surefire tac light that serves it’s purpose.

Be prepared is a good motto, but to be a one man Swiss Army knife is a bit much.

I was at the gun store the other day, and no lie I saw a guy who had a S&W 686 on his hip, four pouches with speed loaders,  a back up piece on each ankle, a Tennessee tooth pick and a mid size flashlight. You could tell he was carrying because his attempt to conceal everything failed miserably. If you are going to look like a certain caped hero with a utility belt that resembles a nocturnal flying rodent, you should at least conceal it correctly, or open carry (State/Commonwealth law permitting). You shouldn’t go out wearing your sisters jeans and expect them to cover to semi-automatics on your ankles. Nor a waist length shirt that doesn’t cover the last 3 inches of your six shooter.

So shooters, the point I am trying to make is maybe taking your entire gun safe and strapping it to your belt is not the greatest idea.

Be safe out there. As always,
