The body of Robert Card, the suspect in the horrific shooting that claimed 18 lives and injured 13, has been discovered. Several news outlets have reported that law enforcement has confirmed Card’s death by suicide via gunshot.
There was a lack of quick detail. However, NBC10 Boston investigators were advised by credible sources that Card had been located and was no longer a threat.

The bones of the alleged killer, Robert Card, have been located, according to Senator Angus King of Maine, who verified the news for CBS13.
The Maine State Police will hold a press conference tonight at 10 o’clock.

Since shots were fired at two separate places in Lewiston, Maine, on Wednesday night, 40-year-old Card has been the target of a manhunt. There were 18 fatalities and 13 injuries.
Senior law enforcement authorities told NBC News that they found a note while investigating Card’s home.
NBC said investigators are trying to decipher the memo to locate Card, but they have not disclosed its contents.
On Thursday evening, FBI agents and other officers surrounded a home where several of Card’s relatives live in Bowdoin, the Post reported. The officers demanded entry into the home as a helicopter circled overhead.
According to CBS News, “Federal agents armed with a search warrant surrounded a home in Bowdoin, shouting “FBI, open the door!” Investigators were looking for Card and or any evidence he might have left behind. Inside his home, agents found the suicide note. Sources say it was addressed to his son.”
“Davis says that if Card left a suicide note and is contemplating ending his own life, there is a possibility that he may be near the river. Also, at this time of year, with leaves falling from trees, locating Card in the woods if he went in that direction would be very challenging,” the outlet added.

Card shot up a Lewiston, Maine, pub and bowling facility on the same night. At least 18 people were killed and at least 13 were injured in the terrible incident.
Robert Card, who was born on April 4, 1983, last saw the white 2013 Subaru Outback with a black bumper in the state of Maine, where it had the license plate number 9246PD. His old address in Bowdoin, Maine, was 941 Meadow Road.
Gun expert Card allegedly has ties to the Army Reserve and currently resides in Saco, Maine. Law enforcement sources have also disclosed that Card has a history of mental health concerns, including recent reports of hearing voices and threats to shoot up the Saco National Guard Base.
What’s more worrisome is that Card spent two weeks in a psychiatric hospital in the summer of 2023 before being discharged.
