Funker
An FSA fighter uses a homemade sniper rifle to slam regime positions in Damascus, Syria. This thing is kind of crazy. Ok it’s insane.
It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention. The Syrian Civil War has proven this to be an absolute, undeniable truth. We have seen homemade weapons and armor ranging from Mad Max-esque pick up trucks, to drone machine guns made out of expired PlayStation 2 parts. Now, we have an insane sniper rifle made out of what appears to be some scrap metal and a bicycle.
The terrifying thing about this weapon system isn’t just that it works, but that it works effectively and is now being proven on the battlefield. Just to relate this to something that has been on-going in the United States, we should probably consider this when we start arguing things like the second amendment to the constitution. I’m sure the people who would like to conduct terror attacks now have access to the very manuals on how to create weapons like this. If that’s the case, would stopping the potential jihadi from purchasing an AR-15 at Dick’s Sporting Goods really stop them from being able to carry out an attack with a firearm? (Not that the current laws have prevented much anyways.) Think about that for a minute.
