Update: Las Vegas police searching store for possible 2nd person after report of armed subject at Centennial Hills Plaza – FOX5 Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) –
Las Vegas Metro police on Tuesday afternoon reported they were dealing with an armed person at a shopping complex located in the northwest part of town.
The incident was reported after 1:30 p.m. in the 7000 block of North Durango Drive, near Elkhorn Drive.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Police urged people to avoid the area. There are a number of businesses in the area, including a T.J.
Maxx, Smith’s grocery store and Chase Bank. Police closed Grand Montecito Parkway in both directions between Elkhorn and Deer Springs Way in order to deal with the situation. Nearby Centennial Hills Hospital was locked down as a precaution.
This was originally posted as an active shooter, but since no shots have been fired…..he’s not reallllyyyy a “shooter”.
Police said a SWAT team was headed to the scene.
