When building an AR many people will piece their upper receiver once piece at a time. This can be time consuming and costly for the inexperienced. However what many people fail to realize is that they can buy an upper receiver prebuilt. Often, with the options they were going to build anyway. There are many manufactures that produce upper receivers. Some of them even include everything you need to build a complete AR sans the lower receiver.
