Oklahoma officer fatally shoots man during disturbance call

Authorities say a police officer in northern Oklahoma fatally shot a man while responding to a domestic disturbance call.

(FOX)- The shooting happened Wednesday outside a home in Bartlesville, about 125 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. Bartlesville Police Capt.

Jay Hastings says that when officers arrived, a woman ran out of the home and was followed by a man who was attacking her.

Hastings says one officer used a stun gun on the man “to no effect.” He says an officer then opened fire after the man began attacking the officers, too.

Police say the man was pronounced dead at a hospital later Wednesday.

Hastings says one officer was treated for wounds on his face. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation will lead the investigation into the shooting.
