At least 12 people are dead after a Mass Shooting this morning at the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington D.C. According to authorities, bystanders and other media outlets; there may have been more than one shooter. Officials are uncertain at this time as to exact numbers but one government source told Fox News that there was one gunmen dead.
There are conflicting stories as to how many gunmen were involved. Bystander reports vary from one African American gunman with an AR-15, and others state that there were multiple shooters dressed in “military garb”.
The gunman suspected in the killing of 12 people has been identified as Aaron Alexis, 34, a Navy veteran from New York.
Alexis, who was discharged from the Navy two years ago after serving hitches in Texas and Illinois, fired from the fourth floor down to the cafeteria area in the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters in southeast Washington in an attack that began just after 8 a.m. Alexis, who may have used a stolen ID to get into the building, died later as he traded shots with responding police and tactical team, though it was not clear if he killed himself or was brought down by cops according to Fox news.
Fox news also states that, “more than 20 members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) responded to the scene, including the same Special Response Team that extracted the alleged Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev from the boat where he barricaded himself following the April 15 attack.”
I think its odd that it’s the “same team” from April 15th. Just saying.
Aaron Alexis:
Whenever something tragic like this occurs, friends, family and acquaintances always flock to me for answers. Probably because of my history with the Sheriffs department, Military and EMS as a Paramedic. This is all I have been hearing about today. A barrage of comments have been made to me. The questions and comments I have been privy too range from “How could this happen?” “Don’t Military complexes have security?” and my personal favorite “Doesn’t everyone have a gun in a military building?”
Yes, everyone walks around with an M60 machine gun on base. Cooks, paper pushers even the civilian contracted janitors; everyone has a machine gun. Grenade launchers too…
I can only imagine the rants from the Leftist media and spokes puppets. “American Military forces are too aggressive..” blah blah blah.
This occurrence is tragic, and I pray for the families of the victims. However, the backlash from this shooting are going to be interesting. President Obama already said, “yet another mass shooting” and vowed to ensure “whoever carried out this cowardly act is held responsible.”
White House officials, in a statement released shortly after the shooting stating
“The President directed his team to stay in touch with our federal partners, including the Navy and FBI, as well as the local officials,” the statement read. “We urge citizens to listen to the authorities and follow directions from the first responders on site.”
I am curious to hear what the anti-gunners have to say about this and I am fearful that our 2nd Amendment rights are going to be under attack yet again.
My heart goes out to the families and victims, I will pray for all of you. To my fellow Patriots and Legal gun owners, pray.
God Bless.
