The new lower, branded the Lima Six (Chop Suey) Lower Receiver, is a billet aluminum unit machined specifically to match the Lima Six’s stretched upper receiver. It features a matching parting line, an extended bolt catch/release, an oversized trigger guard, an M16 fire-control pocket, and a dedicated link clean-out port that lets spent links fall free instead of collecting under the gun. Finished in Type III hardcoat anodized black, it is compatible with both mil-spec and aftermarket ammo sacks and boxes. Attackcopter noted the heavy 7075-T6 billet construction eliminates flex at the takedown pin junctions under the torque of sustained belt-fed fire, while the modified magwell and forward geometry keep nut-sacks and feed trays from binding.
What ships in the kit covers the critical lower-side parts needed to mate it to a Lima Six upper: the bolt catch threaded pin, extended bolt catch, front pivot and rear takedown pins with springs and detents, a rear takedown pin cap screw for easier install, and anti-walk AR-15 trigger pins. Builders still supply their own trigger, grip, stock, and the correct buffer configuration required by the Lima Six system. Everything else to get the lower paired up is included. Just add ammo. Weight comes in at 10.5 oz, and it’s manufactured in-house in Idaho.
The design addresses the practical shortcomings of running the Lima Six on a standard mil-spec lower. A regular lower with a magwell adapter sits the gun higher in prone or off a bench, and link ejection is less clean. This dedicated receiver drops the profile, keeps the feed location optimized for the stretched upper, and includes the clean-out so the action stays clearer during sustained strings. Early users of similar dedicated lowers (such as the Inoculum IGM7) have noted the fit and finish advantages once they move away from adapters.
The Cloak Industries Lima Six (Chop Suey) lower is purpose-built for the stretched Lima Six belt-fed upper instead of a regular magazine-fed setup. Here’s what changes:
- Matching geometry and parting line — Machined to align with the Lima Six’s stretched upper so the fit and look are seamless. A standard lower does not match that longer receiver.
- Modified magwell and forward section — Shaped for belt-feed trays, nut-sack attachments, and hanging ammo pouches without snagging or binding. Standard lowers usually need adapters and still have clearance problems.
- Dedicated link clean-out port — Lets spent links drop free instead of collecting under the gun. Standard lowers lack this.
- Reduced flex under belt-fed loads — 7075-T6 billet construction is meant to limit movement at the takedown pins during high-volume fire. Forged standard lowers can flex more in the same use.
- Lower overall profile — Sits lower in prone or on a bench than a standard lower with a magwell adapter.
- Extended bolt catch/release and oversized trigger guard — Built in for glove use and faster belt-fed operation.
- M16-style trigger pocket — Accepts standard and aftermarket fire-control groups without modification.
The Lima Six upper itself continues to draw positive attention. A recent RECOIL evaluation logged 2,000 rounds with zero malfunctions and groups in the 1.5–2.6 MOA range. The upper’s extra bolt-carrier travel helps strip rounds from M27 links more reliably, and its top cover is engineered to return to zero after opening and closing. Pairing it with a purpose-built lower removes the last major compromise for shooters who want the system to sit and run like it was designed as a single package.
The first production run is limited to only 245 pieces. Cloak Industries has given Tactical Shit exclusivity to launch and sell that entire batch. The stripped lower is listed at $299.99. Once those 245 are gone, the exclusive first-run window closes.
