The White House made the much-touted statement that it was surrendering to gun-control special groups by establishing a new Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The office will have little to do with genuine crime prevention and everything to do with exploiting taxpayer funds to deny Americans their Second Amendment rights.
There are still doubts about what this office will do and who will staff it at taxpayer cost. Here’s what we know so far.
The White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention is a branch of the White House tasked with carrying out President Joe Biden’s executive actions on gun regulation. If that sounds complicated, it is. Executive orders are legal orders issued by the president. That is executive orders direct government agencies to carry out specific functions outlined in legislation passed by Congress and signed into law by the president.
As a result, the new White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention is a pointless endeavor to promote gun regulation. Given that the president is pursuing gun control activities outside federal law, this administration should anticipate doing more of the same.
This includes additional gun control nonsense, such as the botched attack on hunter education. President Biden argued that the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) barred the use of government monies in schools under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) for hunter education and scholastic archery programs. But that’s a lie. There is no such provision.
NSSF endorsed H.R. 5110, the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act, which Congress passed in response. The White House stated that President Barack Obama would sign the law, which passed with only one vote against it in the United States House of Representatives. It was adopted unanimously by the Senate.
But hold on, there’s more. Expect steps similar to the Biden administration’s “zero-tolerance” approach for Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) inspections from this new office. Federal firearms licensees (FFL) have lost their licenses and livelihoods as a result of small bureaucratic errors. A federal judge recently dismissed the ATF’s plea to dismiss a lawsuit filed in response to this aggressive regulation.
This new office’s mission is best defined as a government-backed gun control wish-granting mechanism. As the Obama Justice Department confirmed, President Biden would use this agency to push for universal background checks, which would demand a national handgun registry to function.
If it doesn’t seem Orwellian, look at what Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is doing with his country’s national registry. It is, in fact, a confiscation plot.
There will be others. Politicians for gun control have delivered a road map to the White House earlier this year. They asked U.S. firearm makers with Defense Department contracts to sign an agreement not to sell modern sporting rifles (MSRs) to civilians in that wish list letter. They also want to ban the entry of certain firearms exempted under the “sporting purposes” exclusions.
Expect this agency to lobby for reversing the US Munitions List to Commerce Control List (USMC-CCL) export reforms, which were first proposed by Obama and Biden. The new agency will also likely press the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to violate First Amendment rights by limiting firearm ads, as well as press the ATF to divulge firearm trace data that is shielded from public release under the Tiahrt Amendment. Because the material is incomplete, revealing it would compromise law enforcement and criminal investigations.
President Biden’s plan to classify practically anyone who privately sells a handgun as a “firearm dealer,” requiring them to obtain a license and keep firearm transfer records in eternity, exemplifies this gun control agenda. However, this is not what the wording of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act reads when the definition was clarified.
Vice President Kamala Harris will be in charge of the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
In a statement, Vice President Harris said:
The new Office of Gun Violence Prevention will play a critical role in implementing President Biden’s and my efforts to reduce violence to the fullest extent under the law, while also engaging and encouraging Congressional leaders, state and local leaders, and advocates to come together to build upon the meaningful progress that we have made to save lives.
This new office can be added to the long list of responsibilities that the vice president has taken on and completed. Voting rights, the United States’ southern border, abortion, artificial intelligence, water policy, boosting child tax credits, COVID-19 vaccine education, chairing the National Space Council, extending countrywide broadband access, union labor expansion, and combating online harassment are among those areas.
Stefanie Feldman will be the Director of the newly established office. She has been a longstanding advisor to President Biden, serving as a Domestic Policy Advisor, where many of the Biden administration’s outrageous gun control proposals originated.
Under the Biden plan, current owners of assault weapon will have two choices:
1) sell their weapons back to the gov, OR
2) register them under the National Firearms Act. That's the same policy successfully used to regulate machine guns.https://t.co/iGsEL16il7

Her social media platforms are littered with pro-gun control rhetoric, including one post from 2019 on X, now known as Twitter, that states, “As president, he’ll defeat them again. And, he’ll repeal the non-sensical liability protection for gun manufacturers.”
It seems to have escaped her notice that doing so would require an act of Congress.
Jackson also brings to the office an active animus against law enforcement.
Washington Free Beacon reported Jackson participated in a January 2021 University of Maryland policing seminar when he lamented that he is “struggling to survive while … police budgets thrive.” He was also part of an Obama Foundation webinar entitled “Re-Imagining Policing,” when he proposed “community-led violence intervention and prevention strategies” in place of traditional law enforcement. The goal, Jackson said, is to “ultimately reduce the need for policing.”
Jackson is conspicuously silent on criminals who use firearms illegally to prey on communities, but he blames the firearm business for politicians’ inability to hold criminals accountable.
Robert Wilcox will also serve as the President’s Special Assistant and Deputy Director.
Prior to this position, he was the Senior Director of Federal Government Affairs at Everytown for Gun Safety.
That’s true, he works as a lobbyist for gun control.
Of course, this is the same gun control outfit that gun control billionaire Michael Bloomberg funds. Wilcox, as Everytown’s lobbyist, has advocated for the prohibition of entire classes of firearms and has advocated for the bankrupting of the firearm industry through frivolous and unconstitutional lawsuits.
He’s testified in favor of stricter gun control but never in favor of bringing criminals accountable for their heinous actions.
Wilcox isn’t the only one. Despite the White House’s promotion of her past status as California’s attorney general and prosecutor, Vice President Harris has not urged for increased prosecution of criminals. Feldman, like Jackson, does not want criminals imprisoned.
Vice President Harris is more concerned with granting White House access to George Soros’ grandson Alex, who has been hired to lead the progressive policy organization Open Society Foundation. Vice President Harris meets with the young Soros on a daily basis.
This is the same Open Society Foundation that advocated for cities to be devoid of any authorized firearm possession…even by police.
The new White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention is anything but dedicated to preventing gun violence. Instead, it has become a refuge for gun control ideologues who are now being paid by taxpayers to push an unconstitutional goal.
