As most of you are aware, Alec Baldwin, who has been claiming for over a year that he could not be charged criminally for shooting a woman to death on the set of the film HE was producing, has now been charged criminally.
Alec is now facing involuntary manslaughter charges, as well as the possibility of prison time. Baldwin, as well as Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the blue-haired girl in charge of weapons for the film, will be charged before the end of the month.
Newser reported:
Baldwin responds: Baldwin’s attorney called the development “a terrible miscarriage of justice,” per the AP. Baldwin “had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun—or anywhere on the movie set,” said Luke Nikas. (Prosecutors say he should have checked himself, which they say is standard procedure.) “He relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds. We will fight these charges, and we will win.”
The armorer: The attorney for armorer Gutierrez-Reed sounded a similar note in calling the pending charges “the result of a very flawed investigation and an inaccurate understanding of the full facts.” Jason Bowles added that “we intend to bring the full truth to light and believe Hannah will be exonerated of wrongdoing by a jury.”
Avoiding jail: Assistant director David Halls, who handed Baldwin the gun, agreed to plead guilty to negligent use of a deadly weapon. In exchange, he received six months’ probation and a suspended sentence, per the Washington Post.Damning statement: “If any one of these three people—Alec Baldwin, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, or David Halls—had done their job, Halyna Hutchins would be alive today,” said special prosecutor Andrea Reeb. “It’s that simple. The evidence clearly shows a pattern of criminal disregard for safety on the Rust film set.”
Blame game: A blizzard of lawsuits is still in play, with Baldwin and others accusing each other of being the responsible party. For a primer of what transpired on the set and subsequent developments, see USA Today. (Baldwin has insisted he never pulled the trigger, but there’s some doubt about that.)

Alec has now “fled” his Manhattan apartment, looking frightful, according to a report from Radar Online.
Alec Baldwin attempted to dodge paparazzi outside of his luxury Manhattan apartment, fleeing the building to a parked car waiting outside. The sighting was the first time the actor has been seen since it was announced he would be charged with involuntary manslaughter for the 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Baldwin, 64, was accompanied by his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, 39, who wore a green sweatshirt that read “empathy” across the chest, an apropos fashion statement given the severity of charges against her husband.
[…]
After the charges were announced, Baldwin kept to a low profile while his wife carried on with life as normal.
The day after Santa Fe prosecutors said that the actor would not be given a “free pass” because of his high-profile status, Baldwin was seen making a mad dash for his car in a desperate attempt to avoid the photographers camped outside of his apartment building.
With coffee in hand and their children in tow, Hilaria appeared to serve as a distraction for the paparazzi and provided cover for her husband to escape — but he didn’t go undetected.
According to the Daily Mail, Hilaria paused as she approached one of the vehicles waiting outside and chatted with photographers. While Hilaria entertained the paparazzi, Baldwin dashed for a separate car. The actor dressed in all-black and appeared somber as his vehicle waited to take him to a nearby office building.

Karma is not treating this man well, and he deserves it. For the majority of his life, he has been a very angry, nasty person, and now the chickens have come home to roost.
