Human remains were found in a suspects stolen vehicle after a shootout with law enforcement on a ranch in Oregon!
KATU reports that deputies are working to identify the person involved in a stolen vehicle chase that ended in a shootout and car fire outside the city of Roseburg on Saturday night, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said. The incident started about 6 p.m. when emergency dispatchers received reports of a stolen car spotted at the Love’s truck stop along I-5 at the Highway 99 interchange.
The vehicle was reported as stolen from Eugene on Thursday and “contained multiple weapons and ammunition, to include a semi-automatic rifle,” the sheriff’s office said.
Douglas County deputies and Oregon State Police troopers arrived as the driver was leaving the Love’s location, and a short police chase ensued.
Officers say the stolen vehicle ended up stuck in a field at a nearby ranch, and deputies say the driver started shooting. Law enforcement returned fire, and the stolen car started smoking and caught fire.
