6 buffers to remedy that finicky AR build!

Different AR Builds require different buffers, unfortunately many new builders don’t realize the unmarked buffer they received with their buffer tube kit isn’t going to cut it with their 300 blackout pistol build and that 300 blk requires a buffer heavier than 4.7oz. I haven’t built a 300 blk AR yet that has used the regular 3 oz carbine buffer and not had issues. This, however, is true for any AR build. Different calibers and set ups require different buffers and the options for buffers available are overwhelming. Here are a few options that can assist with your build!

Spike’s ST-T1 Tungsten Buffer – 3.0oz

Looking for a heavy buffer to replace your standard carbine buffer? Well, Spikes came up with something that offers the HIGHEST performance at a reasonable price. The ST-T1 buffer is one of the softest shooting, smoothest, and quietest buffers on the market; not to mention it looks awesome! It doesn’t have any weights to move around or fluids to leak out like some other buffers, so it’s 100% maintenance free! The ST-T1 buffer weighs in at 85g/3oz. (Depending on the density and size of the LDTP, the weight can vary slightly) and is CNC machined from solid billet Aluminum bar stock for strength and durability. To finish it all off, it’s Anodized matte black and laser engraved with our Logo. This is the same buffer used in the ST Shooting Team weapons.

So you’re probably wondering what’s inside of this thing to make this thing so great and different? Each ST-T1 buffer is filled with LDTP which is short for “Low Density Tungsten Powder” and topped off with a Mil-Spec bumper. Because of this, there aren?t any reciprocating weights inside to make a lot of noise and it also makes for a very smooth cycling rifle. The ST-T1 eliminates the chance of bolt bounce, helps with muzzle rise when firing in full-auto, and cuts down on felt recoil. As you can tell, it’s a HUGE upgrade from a Standard Carbine buffer! It’s designed for .223/5.56 but it works in all Calibers! Get one for your AR-15 today and feel the difference!

ar 15 Heavy 4.4 oz Buffer and Spring Set

Heavy Buffer for your Ar-15

  • CAR/M4 Standard Buffer
  • 4.4 oz weight (GT-2)
  • Mil -spec
  • Carbine Length, Teflon Coated, Chrome Spring Included

Though its not mentioned in the description this will be the best bet for 300blk pistol or SBR builds. This is the one I run in several 300blk builds. Another great option is the JP Silent Capture spring which I have listed directly below this one! I have heard nothing but rave reviews for the Silent capture. It runs smooth and takes away alot of the noise associated with the buffer.

GEN 2 Silent Captured Spring (patented) for AR-10-type rifles

Running a suppressor and \want the quietest AR-10 you can get? Look no further than JP Silent Captured Spring for AR-10-type rifles!

Includes partially assembled SCS unit, three alternative weight springs and spacer to allow for installation in both carbine-length and rifle-length buffer tubes.

The JPSCS2-10 is designed to work in standard 7-inch M16/M4-length buffer extension tubes on .308 AR-type rifles like the DPMS LR-308. Armalite .308 rifles, likewise, use these standard M16 extension tubes with rifle-length stocks, so this unit will function normally when installed with the supplied spacer. However, Armalite’s .308 carbines use a slightly longer, non-standard carbine extension tube. The JPSCS2-10 can still be used with these extension tubes by installing the spacer, which must be modified to fit. Alternately, the system will function readily if the longer Armalite carbine tube is replaced with a standard 7-inch .223 carbine extension tube.

The JPSCS2-10 is not compatible with the HK MR762, the Sig Sauer 716, or the Rock River Arms LAR-8 because of its longer bolt stroke and subsequently longer extension tube.
