Man killed after attackers spray city street with bullets.
I will be surely surprised if anyone comes forward and says anything about this. I know these housing projects all too well. I was a Housing Officer here. Worked this beat for well over a year.
The old saying “Snitches get stitches” holds very true in East Hills. The Bloods have a tight grip on this territory, and some of the families have been in this housing plan for over 6 generations. Nobody will come forward. Nothing changes.
Heroin and “Thug” lifestyles are all too prevalent in East Hills. I probably know who the shooter/s is/are. There are only so many dirt bags in East Hills, and half of them are related to each other.
KDKA Reports:
(KDKA)- It happened in broad daylight in the East Hills along Park Hill Drive. Shots rang out in the Mapleridge Apartments just after 12:30 p.m.
Police say 22-year-old Niles Young was outside working on a car in the parking lot near the building. A 29-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl were sitting inside a car parked nearby.
Police say one or more gunmen came out of the woods and started shooting.
“[Young] was shot three times in the back,” Public Safety spokesperson Sonya Toler said. “The adult female was shot in the arm. The child was grazed in the foot. They actually ran into one of the apartment units here for safety.”
Young was taken to UPMC Presbyterian where he died. The other victims are in stable condition.
An 8-year-old boy was also taken to the hospital.
“There was a fourth victim who was not shot, but was injured by flying glass inside one of the residences,” Toler said.
Police believe up to 15 shots were fired. No motive was given, and there’s no description of the gunmen.
