If you’re a Veteran, you know all too well what a “Woobie” is. For those of you that don’t fully know or maybe only have a vague idea; let me help define it for you.
A WOOBIE is a line item of military issued field gear officially known as
“LINER, WET WEATHER PONCHO.”
Originating from the Vietnam era, this item is used as a lightweight, easily packed, and field expedient blanket that can be used in many different environments and applications. The item has properties that gives service members warmth and comfort even when wet. Many military and veteran personnel have called their poncho liner a “WOOBIE” throughout time.

So when I was introduced to Matt and Tony from WOOBIES SHOES, I was all too eager to find out what the deal was. While working on the set of “RANGE 15” as P.A.’s Matt and Tony came up with a crazy idea of creating their own shoe brand and designs.
Their MISSION STATEMENT:

Sacrificing everything, and completely out of pocket; these two Army Veterans have been busting their backsides to make WOOBIES a reality. With an affinity for timeless designs like “Vans” and “Converse”, Matt and Tony have come up with their own unique style of footwear that is not only comfortable, but durable and practical. Fast drying and flexible, these shoes can easily be folded up and thrown into your ruck sack, dive bag, gym bag; whatever.
With a focus on family first, these guys have created footwear that concentrates on comfort and performance. With the utmost appreciation for the Veteran and First Responder community, $1.00 per order is donated to the Boot Campaign. “…if we can give back to our brothers and sisters in anyway, we will…” they say.
