The 6 position collapsible A2 stock may have been at the top of its game when it first came out but stocks have come a long way since the 90s and like many things what was good over 2 decades ago may not be up to par with todays standards. Many ARs sold on the civilian market dont even bother with them any more. With advances in technology there are just so many options out there that are leaps and bounds ahead of the old A2 stock. These stocks vary from function and offer a wide range of features as well as comfort, if thats your thing.

TROY PDW Stock Kit Black

The TROY M7A1 PDW Stock kit is the anticipated retractable stock made to elevate 5.56 carbines, making them compact, measuring 3” shorter than traditional carbine stocks. Utilizing a proprietary, patent pending spring, bolt carrier system and heavy duty latch assembly, the refined design makes the M7A1 PDW Stock Kit rugged, reliable and sturdy. The design of the rods in the TROY PDW stock allows full access to operating features, even with a gloved hand, and even when the stock is completely retracted.

After depressing a lever on the underside of the stock with their thumb, operators can extend the stock in one fluid motion. TROY’s stock has 6 positions of adjustment and built-in sling mounts, making it the total package. Stock kit includes PDW Stock, spring, complete proprietary bolt carrier group and buffer system.

Full auto capable. Will work with 300 Blackout. For direct impingement weapons only (non-piston operated weapons). Patent Pending.

Magpul CTR Carbine Stock

The Magpul CTR (Compact/Type Restricted) – Mil-Spec Model is a drop-in replacement buttstock for AR15/M16 carbines using mil-spec sized receiver extension tubes. Designed for light, fast action the streamlined A-frame profile avoids snagging and shields the release latch to prevent accidental activation.

The CTR also features a supplemental friction lock system that minimizes excessive stock movement for enhanced weapon stability* and an ambidextrous QD sling mount that will accept any push-button sling swivel. The Mil-Spec Model includes a standard 0.30″ thick rubber butt-pad which provides positive shoulder purchase to prevent slippage even with body armor or modular gear.

Double Star Ace Skeleton Stock

The Skeleton Stock (ARFX) has been one of the best selling rifle buttstocks since it was introduced in the late 1990’s.  After DoubleStar purchased Ace Limited in 2007, they have been slowly going through the entire product line and making improvements on original designs.  The new ARFX no longer requires one of Ace’s threaded sling adapters.  Instead, there are 7 QD pockets leaving no excuse for improper sling mounting.  Made from aluminum and utilizing the standard rifle buffer tube make the ARFX a lightweight but durable replacement for the original rifle stock.  It has become a standard for rifle stocks all over the world and OEM equipment for many rifle manufacturers like JP Enterprises and Wyndham Weaponry to name a couple.  The ARFX also includes a ½” rubber recoil pad to soften the recoil and help grip the shoulder of the shooter, but can be built without the pad.  DoubleStar also offers a 1” recoil pad for those needing a slightly longer length of pull.  The included closed cell foam overtube makes the ARFX comfortable to shoot in any weather condition, hot or cold.
