On Wednesday night, a tragic incident occurred at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, killing nine service members.
Two HH-60 Blackhawk helicopters collided during a routine training exercise, according to reports.
According to news reports, there are no survivors from the crash because five people were in one helicopter and four people were in the other, and everyone inside both helicopters died.
Prior to the collision, the servicemembers were taking part in medical evacuation drills, according to Brigadier General John Lubas.
He also stated that the identities of the nine servicemembers who died would not be revealed until they’re next of kin were notified.
The Kentucky House and Senate observed a moment of silence this morning to remember the nine servicemembers killed in the tragic accident.
In a speech, Kentucky state Rep. Walker Thomas said the servicemembers were a part of the Kentucky Community and thanked them.
Two Tennessee National Guard pilots were killed last month when their Blackhawk helicopter crashed on an Alabama highway.
An investigation is still underway to determine what went wrong, resulting in the crash.
