A Georgia teen was live-streaming a video on Instagram Monday evening when he accidentally shot himself.
I can only imagine how bad the parents feel and what they are going through right now. It breaks my heart that in todays society, the gang lifestyle is so glorified, and so revered in the Urban and Suburban setting that incidents like these and worse occur.
I can only say that yes, a more pro-active parenting posture might have helped here in this situation. But as we all know, the ability to be influenced by peer pressure as a teen is over whelming. Especially, when that child is hanging out with another teen whose parents are absent or glorifying this garbage lifestyle themselves.
Malachi Hemphill, 13, was rushed to Gracy Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was pronounced dead, news station WXIA reported.
His mom Shaniqua Stephens was home when her son fatally shot himself while handling the gun in his bedroom in Forest Park, Georgia. She said he had been trying to put a magazine in the gun.
