ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) –
The bomb squad and police are currently investigating a suspicious package found near St. Louis City Hall.
Several St. Louis Metropolitan Police vehicles have convened on the scene near the intersection of 14th Street and Clark Avenue. The package is reportedly on the parking lot next to City Hall, across the street from the Scottrade Center.
A source has informed News 4 that the west half of City Hall has been evacuated or moved to the other side of the building. Those asked to evacuate include Recorder of Deeds and the Budget Office, among others.
Police are diverting traffic from that area and have closed off 14th Street from Market Street and Clark Avenue.
The city’s bomb squad robot has been sent to the package’s location.
News 4 will update this story as more information becomes available.
