If you’re seriously a bad dude wanted for the murder of your girlfriend and you lead cops on a hot pursuit, it might not be a good idea to pull out a gun when they finally stop your car. They will light you up, at least in Elk Grove, California. The good news is that the cops there are terrible shooters, missing almost all of their shots.
Of course, that’s not good news for the people who live nearby.
Elk Grove cops fired over thirty rounds at this suspect, striking him only three times. Mr. Murder Suspect’s “gun” turned out to be an airsoft special. Devian Lewis is either thanking his lucky stars that he is still alive or cursing those cops for their poor marksmanship (as presenting a fake gun at cops is a tried and true “suicide by cop” technique).
This video should serve as a textbook example of why you shouldn’t stay and gawk if you see a real-life police chase. Cops shoot from their squads, while bad guys shoot from their cars. When the chase ends, gunfire is not unheard of, and in cases like the one above, many rounds miss their intended target.
