Police are in a standoff with a man who they suspect fatally shot a UPS driver in a central New York Wal-Mart parking lot.
(FOX)- Officials say the fatal shooting occurred around 12:50 a.m. Thursday outside a store in Ithaca. Police say the victim was a 52. His name hasn’t been released.
While investigating the shooting, police spotted a car that matched the description of a vehicle seen fleeing the parking lot. Officers attempted to pull the car over, but the driver didn’t stop until pulling into a driveway at a home in Dryden, just east of Ithaca.
Authorities say the suspect exited the vehicle, fired a shot at police and ran into the house.
Police believe it is the suspect’s home. They have surrounded the house and the neighborhood is being evacuated.
