The Great state of Illinois is moving yet again to restrict its citizens 2nd Amendment rights by passing even more unconstitutional gun control laws. The gun grabbers seem to believe that gun control works despite various incidents that disprove this. See Chicago. Some of the strictest gun control in the country yet gun related crimes STILL happen.
Illinois has submitted two bills HB0888 and SB0107.
SB0107 is every gun grabbers wet dream. The Assault Weapons Ban. The bill states that it is unlawful to possess an assault weapon 300 days after the effective date and requires those in possession to register them with the Department of State Police within the 300 days.
SB0888 adds further scrutiny to an already complicated process when purchasing firearms in the state of Illinois. Those who are trying to obtain their FOID card must provide the State Police with a list of every social media account to see if there are any post that would disqualify them from obtaining their FOID. This will also stretch out to current FOID card holders as well. So we have gone from restricting their second amendment rights to a clear violation of the 1st.
The department of justice did a study and found that most criminals obtain their firearms illegally through the use of the black market or through theft. Though you could say they are one in the same as most firearms on the black market are stolen and often have their serial numbers scratched away.

According to Fox News according to the study, an estimated 287,400 prisoners possessed a firearm during their offense. The findings of the Study concluded 6 percent had stolen the weapon, 7 percent found it at a crime scene and 43 percent obtained it off the street or on the black market. More than 25 percent had received it from a family member or friend, or as a gift.
About 1.3 percent of all prisoners obtained a gun from a retail source and used it during their offense, the study stated. Moreover, among the prisoners who possessed a firearm during their offense, “0.8 percent obtained it at a gun show.”

So repeat after Me. Gun Control Does Not Work!
Many anti gun politicians are pushing for gun control to take away the responsible gun owners right to self defense. They laws will only enable the criminals who do not turn in their weapons leaving law abiding gun owners vulnerable. It is up to responsible gun owners to register to vote and get out and vote. If you want to see a bill defeated you need to go vote. If you do not vote you are only allowing the anti gun crowd to push unconstitutional laws. They are voting and so should you.
