The Stupidity! It Burns! Seriously, I have read some dumb things written by Leftist writers, but this one damn near takes the cake.
The Huffington Post, in all it’s Liberal splendor, is at it again. Recently posted by one of their writers, a one Justin Curmi; their anti-gun views are made abundantly clear by this mental half-wits latest Op-Ed. Yes, I said “half-wit”. Normally I am not one to come out and fully insult someone like this. However in this case, it’s not an insult. It is stating plain fact. Here is why:
“The Second Amendment is highly contested. There is no doubt that people do have the right to carry and have a stockpile of guns (“the right of the people to keep and bear arms”) and a state has the right to organize a well-regulated Militia. But, the main issue is on the right to self-defend with a firearm.”
He continues the downward spiral of the human thought process:
“The main problem with the notion of self-defense is it imposes on justice, for everyone has the right for a fair trial. Therefore, using a firearm to defend oneself is not legal because if the attacker is killed, he or she is devoid of his or her rights.”
So let me get this straight, Bad Guy breaks into my home. Armed. With a weapon. Trying to kill my family and myself, I pull my firearm out and stop the threat; saving the lives of my family, and now I am guilty of violating the dirtbags “constitutional rights” to a fair trial?
Mr. Curmi, the dirtbag gave up his/her constitutional rights when they decided to break the law. End of story.
You disagree? I wonder how many families in the country now wish that the loved one/s they have lost to violent criminals, had had a sidearm at that time of their attacks.
