We caught up with the guys over at Franklin Armory who developed a non-semiautomatic pistol Caliber Carbine that goes bang with every pull of the trigger. So far this rifle is 49 state legal and they are still working on getting it approved for California. The mag-well takes Glock magazines but is interchangeable and will possibly have the ability to change calibers!

About the same time last year Franklin Armory announced its Non-SBR shortbarrel firearm the reformation. Not much else was said about it and had many people skeptical about how they were able to get around the NFA laws. Under the Gun Control Act, the SBR length smoothbore Reformation technically classifies as a ‘firearm’ or a ‘shotgun’ because the projectile is launched with zero spin. Upon learning about the details many criticized the concept poking fun at the nerf football like rounds though Franklin was able to prove later that accuracy wasn’t really an issue with the platform.
However with this new platform many are speculating that the providence is simply a double action AR. While this may sound like a gimmick, think for a second. Without having to depend on a gas system suppressing this rifle will be a breeze.
Additionally those who live in states with restrictions on semi automatic rifles will now have access to a pistol caliber carbine that will fit within the limitations.
