Former Navy SEAL sought after jumping bail on assault, weapons charges

Police in New York were searching for a former Navy SEAL and Afghan war veteran Tuesday after he skipped bail on a 2015 arrest on assault and other charges, the LI Herald reported.

(FOX)- Nathanael “Lalo” Roberti, 33, was arrested during an April 2015 altercation in Long Beach, N.Y. and faced charges of assault, strangulation, unlawful imprisonment and criminal possession of a weapon.

He was released on $1,000 bail but failed to appear at a recent court date at Nassau County Criminal Court.

Roberti “repeatedly” threatened police officers who responded to the dispute at the time, but authorities would not comment further on the incident.

Police made the initial announcement Monday that they were searching for Roberti, Long Beach Patch reported.

Roberti has brown hair, brown eyes and a tattoo sleeve on his left arm, police told the paper.

Authorities stressed that the public use caution if approaching Roberti, who is 6-foot-2 and weighs 230 pounds.
