*UPDATE*
Do we really need to type a paragraph and a half to inform Responsible Gun Owners, 2nd amendment supporters, and anyone who holds our constitution in high regard that the only way to combat this is to be active? Again, Just to get the point across, we’ll say it. You need to do more than simply posting to Facebook. Because elected officials ARE trying to infringe on your second amendment rights and take away your firearms. They are making every effort. You need to be in contact with your representatives and elected officials. You need to be at the polls. Otherwise these attacks on your rights is not going to stop.
Well they are getting closer to their goals and after passing HR 8 they have now proceeded to pass a second Bill HR 112 through the House
Ammmoland writes That the House passed the most significant gun control measure in more than two decades on Wednesday when it approved the first of two bills aimed at strengthening the federal background check system for firearms purchases,” NPR and other news outlets are reporting. “The vote on the first bill dubbed the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019 passed largely along party lines 240 to 190 with Democrats who control the House cheering as they carried the legislation across the finish line.”
At this point this and the second bill — an expansion of the number of days a dealer must wait to have background checks completed from three to 10 days — look to be symbolic. It’s meant to garner publicity and gin up demand from a public that only “knows” what it’s told about guns by those who want to swindle them out of their rights.
But rather than just hunker down and wait for things to blow over, there is something productive gun owners can do with this latest betrayal: Learn who the “Republicans” are and do what you can to make them feel your pain.
“Republican” co-sponsors of this latest Intolerable Act were:
- Rep. Peter King (NY-2)
- Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1)
- Rep. Brian J. Mast (FL-18)
- Rep. Fred Upton (MI-6)
- Rep. Christopher H. Smith (NJ-4)
Joining them in voting for this attack on gun-owning constituents were:
- Vern Buchanan (FL-16)
- Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25)
- Will Hurd (TX-23)
As always, For those of you who haven’t heard. You need to do more than share a post on Facebook. Contact your representatives. Go vote. Be active in this political battle. Because sharing a post on social media is not enough. The gun grabbers are doing that and more. They have an automated system to send letters to their representatives no thanks to a certain shoe company. Why dont we? More and more anti gun legislation is being passed and submitted. It is up to us to fight it! Yes we beat this paragraph into the ground and we are going to continue to do so every time one of these bills rears its ugly head.
