The Dayton shooters friend bought the items the shooter used to kill 9 people before police shot him in the ass rendering his body armor defenseless. The friend assisted the shooter in hiding the items from his parents. Which honestly should have been a red flag.
WHIO goes on to explain that while none of this was illegal what the feds did get him on was unlawful possession of a firearm by an unlawful user of a controlled substance and making false statements in regards to his ownership of a firearm while using drugs.
When the agents went to question him they could smell the marijuana and observed drug paraphanelia in plain sight. They also spotted a pistol.
When questioned about buying the firearm Kollie stated that he checked no on the 4473 to the question regarding drug use and this is where they got him as he told agents that he and the shooter had done “hard drugs” together in 2014 and 2015 and he still uses.
He told the agents that he didnt answer honestly because he knew that he would be denied the purchase of a firearm had he told the truth on the 4473.

As to why Kollie bought the gunman’s stuff we couldn’t find anything. We dont even know if he knew what was going to happen.
But if anything this is a cautionary tale. Be careful who you trust.
