In what could only be described as something out of a movie a man in Vegas decided to rob the poker cage at the Bellagio. However, due to an amber alert an increased police presence put a damper on his plans. The suspect seems to not even notice them as he exits the casino an attempt to steal one car. When that doesn’t work he moves on to try and carjack a patron waiting outside in front of the officers.

According to FoxNews a Las Vegas police officer wearing a bulletproof vest and a robbery suspect were both struck by gunfire Friday night outside the Bellagio Hotel and Casino on the packed Las Vegas Strip, according to reports.
The shooting occurred just after 9:45 p.m. when an armed male suspect approached the Bellagio casino’s poker cage and demanded money. A witness told KVVU-TV that the robbery happened quietly without anyone noticing.
The suspect then fled and tried to carjack someone in a valet parking lot. It was not known how much money he left with. When police officers responded to the scene, the suspect fired on one of them, hitting him in the chest, the station reported.

While some sources are reporting that he only shot once it is clear from the picture that multiple rounds were fired at the officers from Cohen’s gun. Luckily the Officer was wearing his body armor and it was more than sufficient in stopping the rounds.
The suspect used a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 handgun in the robbery.
