22 hours ago a US warship destroyed an Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz and now Iran has seized a British Oil Tanker

According to FoxNews the USS Boxer took defensive action after the drone closed to within 1,000 yards of the warship and ignored multiple calls to stand down. The president called it the latest “hostile” action by Iran.

Marines on board took down the drone using electronic jamming equipment, U.S. officials told Fox News later Thursday.

Just a few hours after the drone incident Iran has seized two tankers in the Strait of Hormuz Friday according to CNBC, after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard says it seized a British tanker and several news outlets reported a second British ship was heading towards Iran.

The IRGC said the British tanker, Stena Impero, failed to follow international maritime regulations so it took it to a coastal area to be turned over to maritime authorities, according to Iran State TV.

“I think the drone situation and the Gibraltar ruling were just humiliating to the Iranians, and they decided to act. Their patience has run out,” said John Kilduff, partner with Again Capital.
