A NYPD officer working in Brooklyn was shot in the arm on Thursday afternoon.
The Officer, reportedly a female assigned to the NYPD’s 75 Precinct, was shot Chestnut Street between Ridgewood Avenue and Fulton Street in the Cypress Hills section.
The suspect then barricaded himself in a backyard and eventually into an apartment. He is reportedly armed with a rife or some type of long gun.
NBC New York is reporting that the bullet stuck the officers bulletproof vest, ricocheted off and struck her in the arm.
She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio was briefed on the incident.
