Milwaukee County, Wisconsin Sheriff and outspoken conservative David Clarke has officially accepted a position at the Department of Homeland Security, he said during a radio interview Wednesday.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Clare will work in the department’s ‘Office of Partnership and Engagement as a liaison with state, local and tribal law enforcement and governments.’
Shortly after that report, DHS said ‘no such announcement has been made.’
Sr. positions are announced when made official by the Sec. No such announcement w/ regard to the Office of Public Engagement has been made.

Although registered and elected as a Democrat in a heavily Democratic county, many of Clarke’s political views align with those of conservative Republicans. Clarke frequently appears as a guest on Fox News and was a speaker at the 2016 Republican National Convention.
