US suffers national internet outages

Charter Communications has reported massive Internet and television outages affecting nearly every state in the U.S.

(Examiner)- After more than an hour of outages and potentially hundreds of thousands of complaints, the company recently took to Facebook to say they “are aware of the issues,” but failed to indicate what the problem may be or when we can expect it to be resolved.

Many complainants on the company’s Facebook page note that the outage has caused them to miss college assignment due dates or caused those who work online to miss earning money.

One pregnant woman posted that she relied solely on the internet this week to communicate while her phone wasn’t working.

Online businesses and community organizations, such as Wisconsin’s largest animal protection organization, Global Conservation Group, slammed Charter this evening alleging that the outages are impacting their ability to respond to urgent animal rescue cases. It’s unknown at this time if area hospitals have been affected as well.

Charter’s 24/7 customer service lines have been disconnected as of reporting.
