Brains and Bras

Running errands today, I swing by the gun shop that I call my second home. Much to my embarrassment I discover that the shop is having a HUGE Outdoor Sporting Event this weekend. Motorcycles, ATV’s, food, give away contests and vendors galore.
I just went to pick up my Remington Nylon 66 22 cal semi-auto breech loader that the gun smith has been fixing. I walk in to see that all the big vendors are there. Remington, Winchester, Harley Davidson and then it happens. I see two very lovely ladies with a display table filled with holsters. It takes me a moment, and then I realize it is Lisa and Julie from FLASHBANG HOLSTERS! Creators of the Bra holster, among other great products.

I muster up the courage, and grab a pen and paper walking their direction to get the interview.
They more than kindly oblige me and we ended up having a blast! These Southern Bells are truly singular. As knowledgeable about firearms as they are beautiful. They run me through their products and the History.
Spike, Q: “So when did you come up with the concept of the bra holster?”
Lisa, A: “About 5 years ago, and then we released it 2 years ago at Shotshow.”
Spike, Q: “What are some of the benefits from the bra holster over normal hip or shoulder concealed carry?”
Lisa, A: “We have proven that the draw time is way faster from the bra holster than the hip when carrying concealed. The bodies natural position of comfort during defense is to draw in. The hands naturally come to the center of the chest.”
Spike, Q: “Do you make products for guys?”
Lisa, A: “We sure do. We have a new line out called the ‘Prohibition’ line that is geared towards men. We named them after Gangsters from the 20’s during the prohibition era. Back then the Government was taking away and controlling alcohol and booze. Today they are trying to take away our firearms, it seems almost fitting.”

“We came out with the men’s line because several customers were saying that they loved the holster systems but weren’t too fond of the purple backing on them.” according to Lisa.
Lisa has been shooting avidly for about 8 years and even takes her children shooting, whom the oldest of will set up ‘dates’ for them to go shooting at the range.
Julie has been shooting pistols for approximately 2 years but has been shooting shotguns and rifles her whole life.
These ladies know their stuff hands down and they sure can make a guy blush. Yes, I blushed. Multiple times. I admit it. So what….
